Monsters & Miracles is the latest EP from Oxford’s Tiger Mendoza, released yesterday. As with previous Tiger Mendoza releases, at its core it’s a set of gruff, aggressive and noisy electronica/rock songs, but more so than ever before, it’s a rounded and varied set that benefits hugely from some guest vocalists and musicians, as well as a unified sound that nicely reflects the vocal and guitar elements of the line-up.
There are six tracks on the EP – ‘Punch Bag’ (featuring Half Decent), ‘Dawn That Never Comes’, ‘Prometheus Unbound (Band Version)’ (featuring Michael Weatherburn and Mr G, and with cuts & scratches from DJ Unit 27), ‘Something I Should Have Known’, ‘Corporate Responsibility’ and ‘Just Let Go’. See below for the free stream available through Bandcamp, and grab yourself a download for £3 or a CD for £5.
There will be some gigs in the offing to promote the new EP, not least a shindig at The Mill in Banbury, where Tiger Mendoza will be fighting for attention with X-1, Mary Bendy Toy and Mundane Sands.
