Manchester born singer-songwriter Liz Green is embarking on a small tour of record stores to promote her second album Haul Away, released on 14 April. Green has toured relentlessly since winning the Glastonbury emerging talent competition a few years ago and has played venues of all shapes and sizes so this shoud be an impressive show. Her dark and characterful songs take in elements of vaudeville, early jazz and blues and dark folk with her powerful voice often compared to such legends as Karen Dalton and Bille Holiday. Both Liz Green’s album to date were recorded with Liam Watson at his famed Toerag studio in London, a clear indicator of the vintage quality of her songs.
