‘Record And Ride’ was a epic cycle journey that took place in 2012. It saw Oxford sound engineer and cyclist Nicholas O’Brien travel around Europe and collect sound recordings along the way. Read more in our news stories here.
O’Brien and his team now plan to launch a new summer festival this year. Tandem Festival will take place over the weekend of 20-22 June at the Hill End Outdoors Education Centre between Botley and Farmoor and will include a diverse range of musicians and performers along with workshops, documentary showings and talks. O’Brien, who now splits his time between Oxford and Paris, describes the festival as “a pan-european music Festival with a strong eco ethos”.
Although planning is in early stages, a few acts have been confirmed so far: Mages and Oak and Blatt from France, Sophie ter Schure and Sounds Like Katia from Holland and Count Drachma and Jack And The Arrows from Oxford.
An Indiegogo fundraising campaign is now in progress to help raise funds for the festival, and the Tandem team will be taking part in a fundraising cycle ride from Oxford to Paris later in March.
