Event Navigation
Two of the great improvising musicians of the moment – Orphy Robinson and Pat Thomas – join Mark Doffman and Raf Mizraki for an evening of hard driving grooves and free-wheeling improvisations.
Orphy Robinson is one of the best known jazz players in Britain – Orphy came to prominence as a founding member of the Jazz Warriors as well as working with soul-funk band Savannah. Orphy was the first British musician to record on the legendary jazz label, Blue Note and in the last decade has gone on to work with world class artists such as Nigel Kennedy.
Pat Thomas is an equally gifted improviser and has worked with some of the greats in contemporary improvisation – Leo Wadada Smith and Tony Oxley come to mind.
