A one-day summer spectacular on the lawn in front of the Pitt Rivers Museum, celebrating the global ingenuity and human spirit represented by the Pitt Rivers collections.
A day of fun activities and live music, with eclectic performances from Oxford Ukeleles, Brazilian carnival band Sol Samba, spoon percussionist Jo May, historical instrument specialists Waytes and Measures, and more.
In the Family Crafts Village make a mosaic, play traditional folk games or learn to write your name in Arabic. Head to the Workshop Zone to carve a carrot recorder, learn more about bushcraft and woodcarving, or find out how a pump drill works. Explore the Museum with free guided tours and special object trails, or head to the Handmade Market to find a pop-up Pitt Rivers shop and local craftspeople selling wares inspired by the Museum’s collections. Need a refreshment? Pick up a coffee or Pimms at the Food Corner, as well as some of Oxford’s tastiest street food.
