A special gig to celebrate Independent Venue Week.

The Cellar have Stornoway as their chosen flag-flyer IVW 2015. Fresh from having sold out two nights at the prestigious Sheldonian Theatre, and as they build up to their third album release, Stornoway have been an incredible success story for the independent venue circuit. They’ve risen steadily, building a solid fanbase on the way.

Stornoway’s Brian Briggs on the subject: “We played every single place we could get a gig in the early days, and numerous times. If it wasn’t for small, independent venues it would be nigh impossible for a new band to start building a following and to cut their teeth in the live music world.”

The members of Stornoway have worked with BBC Introducing in Oxford in selecting a line-up of local artists:

• Tremorheart
• Brian Briggs (solo set from Stornoway member)
• Estherjoylane

Once the live music ends, there will be Stornoway’s Jon Ouin and Oli Steadman on the decks, and mutual pressure from The Cellar and Stornoway has coerced BBC Introducing in Oxford producer Liz Green to agree to do her debut as a DJ.
