St Valentine’s Day falls bang in the middle of Carnival this year. To celebrate this harmonious serendipity Ran Kan Kan will be playing classic Cuban tunes in Son Montuno, Mambo, and Latin Jazz styles. Led by singers, Pancho Vera and Melisa Akdogan, and a dazzling array of horns, flutes, guitars, piano and percussion, this passionate music will win your heart and move your feet.
Guest Latin DJ, Toledano, will be keeping it suave and caliente through to midnight with Cuban and Latin tunes.
Ran Kan Kan, Oxford’s 20-piece Cuban big band, were born in 2011 from a meeting of local brass and latin percussion fanatics. They have laboured with love and respect to bring you classic songs from the golden age of Cuban Big Bands, and as ever promise new tunes and a unique repertoire.
£1 for every ticket sold will go to the charity, Music Fund for Cuba, supporting education, music and the performing arts in Cuba.
