The hallowed, venerated AUDIOSCOPE festival celebrates a decade of raising money for national homelessness charity Shelter with three individual shows at the Jericho, Oxford, this year. Since 2001 the festival has raised over £20,000 for the charity, and presented a variety of hip’n’happening artists along the way, with the likes of Four Tet, Kid606, Maps, Clinic and Explosion in the Sky waiving their performance fees in support of the cause.
The first event this year is on Saturday 6 November, with the following line-up:
• Dieter Moebius
• Billy Mahonie
• The Oscillation
• The Half Rabbits
• Nøught
• Qaa
• The Rock Of Travolta
• Rome Pays Off
• Mephisto Grande
• Sunnyvale Noise Sub-element
Doors open at 1.30 pm and the show will run until midnights. Tickets are still available – for just £10! – from Wegottickets, and you can find links to the artists’ MySpace pages on the AUDIOSCOPE website.
Following Saturday’s event, next week sees post-punk legends (that’s what everybody else calls them, so why not us too) Wire visiting the Jericho on 10 November, supported by Teeth Of The Sea and Einstellung. Then there’s a bit of a breather before this year’s final event, which has SJ Esau, Sennen, Mugstar, Phantom Theory and many more swinging by for an all-dayer on 20 November.
