Pan-European, acoustic and eco-friendly. Come to listen, learn and dance in the great outdoors!
Enjoy three days packed with an exciting and eclectic mix of acoustic and amplified folk, jazz, gypsy, afro-beat and classical music alongside ceilidhs, singing, drumming and en-masse dancing.
Revel in the beauty of Hill End and celebrate the summer solstice with inspiring talks, workshops, films, poetry, theatre and more.
Embark on a microadventure and contribute to reducing the festival’s carbon footprint by joining one of the many bike rides heading to Tandem from hubs across the UK and Europe.
The line-up includes folk, jazz, gypsy, afrobeat, balkan brass and experimental music including Me And My Friends, Òkina, The Turbans, Balloon Ascents, Tribe Of Tinkers, Art Theefe and Bossaphonik DJ Dan Ofer, on stages curated by Nightscapes productions, Sofar Sounds, and Oxford’s own Catweazle Club. The widely acclaimed 50-piece orchestra, Sinfonia Gaia, will also be making an exclusive festival appearance.
For the first time in almost a decade, the organisers are bringing Ethno World back to the UK to host one of their globally-renowned music camps, bringing young artists from around the world together for a week of pre-festival collaboration culminating in a one-off performance on the opening night.
For 2015 Tandem Festival is also partnering with the British Red Cross to host a stage for Refugee Week, to celebrate the contribution of refugees to the UK and promoting understanding of why people seek sanctuary. The theme of Refugee Week this year is “Celebration!” and the stage will feature a diverse programme of multicultural arts and entertainment to raise awareness.
