Latest updates from Truck HQ: some new musical acts have been added to the bill for the festival. Tribes, Deer Park and Mitchell Museum will be gracing the event, along with local heroes Dive Dive and The Rock Of Travolta.
Despite this being MusicInOxford.co.uk and not ComedyInOxford.co.uk or OtherStuffInOxford.co.uk, some more things have also been added to the event which may be of interest:
Oxford Playhouse are hosting a theatre tent, with a twice-daily production of David Hastings’ One Small Step, as well as Toby Hulse’s My Secret Garden, inspired by the Frances Hodgson Burnett novel. They’re also presenting the intriguing-sounding Etiquette, described only as “a 30-minute theatrical experience just for two… participants will be shown to their seats, given headphones, instructions and props.”
Paddy Luscombe has lined up an excellent selection of comedy for this year’s Truck. Richard Herring – Hitler moustache intact or not – will be joined by Matt Richardson, Alex Clissold Jones, Angela Barnes, Rachel Parris, Chris Turner and Rory O’Keefe.
Cabaret is all the rage at this year’s event. Cabaret A-Go-Go, created by the Long Insiders, joins the camp and exotic musical facets offered by The Original Rabbit Foot Spasm Band, The Severed Limb, One Fathom Down, Miss Amelia, Miss Betsy Rose and Daisy Deluxe. Oxford’s Cabaret Clandestino have also corralled some local talent in the form of music and improvisation from The Geees, The Oxford Imps, Little Fish, Faceometer, George Chopping, Matt Chanerin, Matt Winkworth, James Bell, Ben Walker, Mark Niel and Robin Lawley.
Tickets are still available for Truck, which runs on 22-24 July at Hill Farm in Steventon. For more information and to buy tickets – which are less than £100 for the full weekend – visit the Truck Festival website.
