Moving Hand Records – a new digital and limited edition label

A new label is being set up by a couple of Oxford’s premier hip-hop/dubstep/house/soul/whatever musicians, Asher Dust and Farjedi. The pair have been meeting regularly to write and record music, and decided to create Moving Hand Records to provide an outlet for both their and other peoples’ work. Whilst it will be mainly based around digital downloads, there are plans for produce some limited edition CD and vinyl editions of choice releases.

So far, four releases are scheduled, and should appear throughout August. They will be music from Asher Phuture Soul Project, Lost Youth, Farjedi & Asher Dust and Tik Tokk Dance Division – revealing a variety of sides to the music of the label’s owners, and taking in house, disco, dubstep, soul and even straight-ahead pop. There will be not only free downloads, but also WAV files available for anybody and everybody to contribute their own remixes.

Keep an eye on the Moving Hand Records Facebook page for news of these and future releases. Looking forward, there is talk of forthcoming ‘musical mayhem’ by the excellently-named Crab Costume as well as Afro-jazz and Dinosaur Jr-style guitar music from Farjedi-related projects.
