The events previously known at Jazz At The DoM – aka monthly jazz nights that were held at the Duke of Monmouth in Oxford – have been repackaged, rebranded and rehoused. Expunge the old name from your mind, and replace it with Oxford Jazz Kitchen – that’s the new name for monthly jazz showcases, which will now take place at the James Street Tavern, just off Cowley Road in Oxford.
Tickets for each show will be £5, and live music runs from 9.00 pm to 11.00 pm. After growing in stature at the old location, Oxford Jazz Kitchen should see the regular shows become even more popular and well-attended. The James Street Tavern also does pretty tasty food – so you can grab some of that whilst checking out the music. (That’s where the ‘Kitchen’ angle comes in!)
The next few shows are already lined up, as follows:
- Trish Elphinstone Quintet featuring Alex Hawkins: 21 October
- Pat Thomas Trio: 4 November
- Ewan Baird Quartet: 18 November
- 3bpm with Alison Bentley: 2 December
- Sue Greenway Quartet: 16 December
