With few pretensions, airs or graces, this begins like any classic bit of self-respecting melodic punk-metal. It’s the kind of thing bands like Torche or Three Days Grace are good at. It’s well honed, but exists in a crowded market that’s been in full swing for some time. Tracks like ‘Showtime’ and ‘Broken Arrows’ display a knack for twisty, tuneful song writing, thanks to strong guitar riffs and clever time signatures.
The gripes only set in with the realisation that this can all get a bit Blink 182: whiny, angsty, inoffensive. Still, by all accounts this is an improvement on earlier works, and there are enough good things going on in this EP to maintain my interest. Play loud on a Friday!
