Oxford Guitar Gallery

Oxford Guitar Gallery has closed down

Some sad news is that Oxford Guitar Gallery, which has been open in Summertown for eleven years, has closed down. The guitar and equipment shop, which was always a nice place to be, cites declining sales as the reason for the closure.

The shop will be sorely missed, as it was friendly, welcoming and very supportive of the local music scene. Musicians of Oxford – make sure to avail yourself of the facilities still available. You’ll miss them when they’re gone!

Sad news indeed – I bought my Martin 000C16GTE at the OGG in 2010. Was always made very welcome by Geordie and his team – one of his guitars even inspired me to write a song!
My beloved guitar is in need of some attention – where can I go now?

Dave, the manager from the shop is still doing repairs and set ups. Smart Guitars, definitely worth trying him. I believe he has an advert in nightshirt.

I for one won’t be sorry – they did a complete hack job when I took a guitar in for set up. It came back with lumps knocked out of the back of the neck. Had to sand it down to get rid of them. Idiots!

Way, way over priced – felt like a showroom for businessmen, you just knew that you weren’t going to find a bargain in there – not surprised by their closure.
