The prolific Oxford-based label Big Scary Monsters will be releasing a picture disc vinyl edition of the seventh album by highly-regarded American indie rockers Cursive. I Am Gemini, which will be jointly released with Saddle Creek Records, is apparently the bands ‘heaviest in years’, and ‘tells the story of Cassius and Pollock, twin brothers separated at birth; one good, one evil’. Oo-er.
Although the Big Scary Monsters release isn’t out until late February, it’s currently available to pre-order in their online store. The picture disc edition will be limited to just 500 copies. The album was produced by Matt Bayles, who has also worked with Mastodon, Minus The Bear and Isis. Heaviosity.
A sneaky peek is available in the form of a free download track, ‘The Sun And Moon’, which has been made available through Rolling Stone’s website.
