Want to be part of the Oxford Contemporary Music team? They currently have a vacancy for an Administrator, and are inviting applications until noon on 2 April. Oxford Contemporary Music describe themselves as follows:
“OCM aims to promote high quality new music for a wide range of local and national audiences by staging and promoting performances, commissioning new work, and by deepening understanding and appreciation of musical cultures from within the UK and worldwide.”
They’ve been responsible for presenting all kinds of interesting and novel musical events in Oxford over the past few years, including things like Phil Kline’s Unsilent Night, an experimental musical promenade through Oxford’s wintery town centre, and Terje Isungset’s Ice Music, which saw The North Wall chilled specially to house a collection of musical instruments crafted from solid ice, amongst many more.
Here’s the job description for the Administrator role:
“Oxford Contemporary Music is seeking to appoint an Administrator. Salary £16,000 to £18,000 depending on experience. OCM is one of the South East’s foremost new music organisations, working across many genres and producing outdoor and site specific work. This is a new post created to provide administrative support for a wide range of OCM’s activity. The role supports the Director, General Manager and Production Manager in marketing, production, finance and event management. We are looking for an individual with excellent organisation and communication skills and an enthusiasm for our work. Applicants should have at least one year (or equivalent) experience in event organisation and administration, preferably in music.”
