Oxford Brookes Radio 24-hour broadcast for Nordoff Robbins and more

Brookes Radio, the in-house online radio station for Oxford Brookes University – ‘run by students, for students’ – has been up and running since late January this year. They already have a busy broadcast schedule with shows throughout every day of the week, but on Saturday 21 April and Sunday 22 April they’re pulling out all of the stops and staging a 24-hour broadcast.

The event begins at midday on Saturday and will run relentlessly until midday on Sunday. It’ll include a variety of DJs (both Brookes Radio regulars and hand-picked outsiders, including BBC Introducing in Oxford’s Sam King and Liz Green), outside broadcasts from Oxford city centre, and features on/interviews with local bands, including many taking part in Record Store Day celebrations on the Saturday.

There’s a Facebook event set up for the broadcast, and you can tune in at the Brookes Radio website. Listeners are encouraged to make donations through the Brookes Radio website, as they listen and enjoy, with money raised being split between fundraising for the station, local charities, and the Nordoff Robbins charity.

I misread the headline as an event involving Bruno Brookes!
