Event Navigation
Beth Porter And The Availables are an exciting group of musicians from Bath with lively folk sensibilities. The name ‘The Availables’ was born out of the fact that all of Beth’s collaborators are exceptionally busy and
successful musicians. Often the form of the band would take a different shape depending on their diaries – resulting in an exceptionally tight group of players with an exciting and original depth to their music. On 2 August, the band will be a full six piece, creating driving rhythms and dreamy melodies that will make for an enchanting summer night. Beth has over 60 album credits on a wide spectrum of genres, from Eliza Carthy to Kula Shaker and plays regularly with a number of artists. Don’t miss this opportunity to see a truly original night of music. soundcloud.com/beth-porter/sets/beth-porter-and-the-availables
Tim Weary is a musician who also hails from the west country where his group The Weary Band have built a a dedicated following amongst Bristol’s alternative folk scene. Tim is a prolific songwriter with notable influences from Pavement, Elliot Smith and Sebadoh and his exquisite abilities as a songwriter stand shoulder to shoulder with the contemporaries of the electric-acoustic scene. His recent collaboration with Beth Porter on the Weary Band’s latest album Leaving the Country produced some truly beautiful arrangements that conjure up the west country’s equivalent of rolling-blues Americana washed down with a pint of Guinness. Tim and Beth will be performing these duets at Port Mahon – a musical opportunity not be missed. soundcloud.com/tim-weary/sets/timothy-weary
