AbingdonXtra is a new community radio station, centred around Abingdon and its surroundings, that will begin to broadcast live and online from January 2013. It’ll feature daily shows, podcasts and video blogs covering news, sport, events and – most importantly for readers of this website – music.

One of the shows on the new station will be The Local, to be broadcast via the AbingdonXtra website as well as through Mixcloud. The creators of the show are looking for local musicians and bands to contribute to the show. According to the website AbingdonXtra are also currently on the lookout for a news editor and an assistant website editor. It’s a community station, and so the positions are unpaid voluntary posts, but why not give a little back to Oxfordshire, eh?
