November’s shaping up to be a month of heavy product shippin’ for Oxford bands and musicians, and the latest to join the throng is the mellow and inventive neo-chillwaving outfit Wild Swim who seem to be referencing all kinds of 1980s alt-pop whilst throwing in the tiniest bit of Air. Very tasty.
Their debut single ‘Echo’ is due for release on 26 November, and will be available on 7″ vinyl in a limited edition of 125 copies. Backed with ‘Bright Eyes’ – not a cover of Art Garfunkel’s heartbreaking song from Watership Down, so dry those eyes – the single was mixed and produced by Steve Osborne, who has previously worked with luminaries such as Lush, New Order and Happy Mondays.
