Nightshift magazine have just announced that their annual multi-venue new Oxford music hoedown, the Punt, will take place next year on Wednesday 8 May. The venues involved this year will be The Purple Turtle, The Cellar, The Wheatsheaf, The Duke’s Cut and The White Rabbit, all in and around Oxford city centre.
Bands and musicians can proffer themselves for Punt 2013 by contacting Nightshift – here are some more details, straight from the desk of the editor, Ronan Munro:
“There’s going to be an Oxford Punt again next year. Anyone wanting to play can start thinking about sending in their music from now. Please email links (not sound files or Dropbox stuff) to nightshift@oxfordmusic.net. Please include a bit of info about you or your band and a contact number. Clearly mark your email Punt or Oxford Punt, else I’ll end up reviewing it by accident with all the trauma that entails. Usual rules apply: you have to be from Oxfordshire, can’t have played the Punt last time, be prepared to share kit and follow simple instructions and not be a thundering great arsehole.
In previous years the Punt has played host to all that’s great and good in Oxford music, and has been a perfectly-timed opportunity to catch up-and-coming bands before they leapt on to conquer the world.
See you there on 8 May 2013.
