Owen Tromans - For Haden EP artwork

New Owen Tromans EP featuring Joe Bennett, out February

Owen Tromans, a musician who was once part of the band San Lorenzo before forging a solo career over the past few years, has a new EP, ‘For Haden’, released on 18 February. He’s not from Oxford, so why is this information being shared on a website that’s for and about Oxford music? Well, there are a couple of connections between Tromans and Oxford that may make this new release of interest.

Joe Bennett, of The Dreaming Spires as well as Goldrush, Danny & The Champions Of The World and, of course, ‘helped to start Truck Festival’ fame, plays bass, piano, violin and organ on ‘For Haden’. He also contributed backing vocals to the five songs on the EP, and manned the desk for its recording, which took place at Truck Studios.

Want more? Jamie Dawson, also of The Dreaming Spires, played drums on two of the tracks.

Want even more? Owen Tromans will be heading out on a short tour in February to promote the new release, with Joe Bennett along for the ride, and the tour dates will also feature Co-pilgrim, the current project of Mike Gale, formerly of the Truck Records pop miserablists Black Nielson.

The tour will take in the following dates:

  • Wednesday 20 February: Hare And Hounds, Birmingham
  • Thursday 21 February: South Street Arts Centre, Reading
  • Friday 22 February: The Firefly, Worcester
  • Saturday 23 February: Modern Art Oxford, Oxford
  • Sunday 24 February: Railway Inn, Winchester
