First acts confirmed for Wood Festival in May

Wood Festival, the self-styled ‘festival for those tired of bigger festivals (or wanting something different)’, launched initially as an offshoot of Truck Festival, has announced the first set of artists confirmed for this year’s event.

Headlining on the festival’s Friday night will be Mary Epworth, whose debut album Dream Life has been picking up rave reviews from those in the know like Shindig magazine: “Mary’s timeless songs and pure but resolute voice somehow sound as though they have been there all the time”. Alongside Epworth, further confirmations include Trevor Moss & Hannah-Lou, Syd Arthur, Washington Irving, Nick Cope, Jali Fily Cissokho, The Dreaming Spires, Ligers, Julie Hawk, Flights Of Helios, Jack Day and Marcus Corbett. Quite an impressive line-up already of local and not-so-local talent of many types.

Early bird tickets for Wood have already sold out, and standard tickets are now available for £75 – with a variety of cheaper options for children and young folk. The festival takes place at Braziers Park in Ipsden, from 17 to 19 May.

More information and ticket links can be found at the Wood Festival website.
