Secret Rivals

Debut Secret Rivals album out on 29 April

After undertaking a vee modern ‘pledge campaign’ to raise funds to record their debut album – which saw generous fans committing to small contributory payments in return for anything from a copy of the finished product to a gig in the pledger’s house – Secret Rivals have confirmed that their target was reached and the album is set for released on 29 April.

The album, Just Fall, will be out on Standard Tandoori records, as both a CD and a download. Prior to its release date, Secret Rivals will play an album launch gig at The Cellar in Oxford, supported by Beta Blocker And The Body Clock and King Of Cats. Tickets for the gig are available here for £4 apiece (it’s £5 on the door), and Secret Rivals’ Facebook page and PledgeMusic page have more information about the album and the various bits and pieces the band are also getting up to lately. The Standard Tandoori Records website is here, although it’s somewhat thin in terms of helpful content…

Here’s a demo version of the title track from Just Fall, to get you in the mood:

‘You were bored of my demise, i was borderline bi-polar’ What a great line! Looking forward to the record.
