Baraka are a unique combination of musicians from Ghana, Senegal, Dominica, Germany and Ireland resulting in a musical collaboration unlikely to be heard anywhere else. Baraka deliver a high energy punch full of uplifting West African and Caribbean grooves.

With over 30 years experience as a DJ/promoter, DJ Lubi was a salsa/mambo/Latin jazz pioneer in the early 1980s, running legendary clubnights such as Salsoul and Casa Latina in his hometown of Leeds and also in Manchester. He has compiled over 35 commercial CD releases in the last ten years alone for the Rough Guide, Fania, Nascente and Freestyle labels. He was also chief Latin music writer for the highly respected global music magazine Straight No Chaser. These days he is dedicated to spreading the ‘nu-Latin beats’ gospel, taking his music to a younger wider audience whilst also representing other non-Latin perspectives such as global hip hop, afrobeat, old school funk and dancefloor jazz.
