OCM @ Lord Mayor’s Celebration.

After the success of Oxford City Council’s takeover of Gloucester Green last year, OCM are working with them this year as they enliven the square yet again with performances, music, stalls and workshops.

All afternoon OCM will be presenting some of the best and most varied new music from Oxford and around, sewn together by DJ (and Pitt Rivers Musicologist) Noel Lobley who’ll be bringing with him record bags stuffed with highly eclectic and danceable tunes.

On the OCM stage there will be “one woman music box” Charlie Henry who mixes shimmering cello with ukuleles and saws alongside grainy spoken word and song. Oxford Folk Weekend favourite James Bell will be bringing his highly personal and charismatic take on traditional folk. Plus, The August List, a boy/girl two-piece who play ‘backwards country’ with grit and soul, and African inspired jazz dance pop band Nairobi.
