Compassionate DictatorshipCompassionate Dictatorship features some outstanding musicians and combine freewheeling jazz, funk grooves and sophisticated composition. Led by Jez Franks on guitar and Tori Freestone on saxes, the band also features two of the most accomplished rhythm section players in the country – Jasper Hoiby on bass (Phronesis, Kairos 4tet) and James Maddren on drums (Gwilym Simcock). The band has been touring loads since their debut album in 2007, honing and developing their sound, and released their second album Cash Cow in 2010 to rave reviews. They’re now promoting their third album, Entertaining Tyrants which is to be released on the Jellymould Jazz label.
