Opening with Tchaikovsky’s much-loved Quartet in Bb, this programme also includes Sibelius’s Voces intimae (‘Intimate voices’) alongside a pastoral rarity from English composer Frederick Delius. The programme closes with Shostakovich’s Quartet no.13, an intensely-moving, one-movement offering from one of the twentieth century’s most significant composers in the genre.
