Irregular Folk Christmas Special: Sea Stacks / Jess Hall / Salvation Bill @ The Cellar, Oxford

Saturday 14 December 2013, 7:30 pm - 10:30 pm

£5 (advance) / £7 (door)

The Cellar logoRounding off a wonderful year Irregular Folk invites the rush of powerful energy that is Sea Stacks! They were guests at the Summer Sessions and were so very good they got them back to blow the ‘roof’ off, alt-chamber-folk style! Next we have the currently lesser-spotted Jess Hall, a quite frankly astonishing songstress. Her debut album is out soon so expect this to be a wonderful introduction to it from folk inspired tales of love lost, found and all things sublime and beautiful. Now, it’s a music club, so all are headliners, Irregular Folk have tried to book Salvation Bill since the club started. It’s a special Christmas present to have him and his incredibly haunting tales of murder, bad breath and dead dogs play at last. We continue to be captivated by his bewitching vocals and bristlingly original approach to instrumentation. All this and a special locally produced ale from Fisher and Co, and homemade Sausage rolls on offer with a few stalls to buy those last minute Christmas presents!
