Event Navigation
This is a brand new suite of beautiful music by fabulous folk musicians commissioned to celebrate tradition right on our doorsteps. Sure to appeal to lovers of folk as well as lovers of the landscape and our history.
The many drove roads, or tracks, set deeply into the Wiltshire, West Berkshire and Oxfordshire countryside were used to drive livestock, much of which originated in Ireland. These musicians have literally walked these roads to make this music.
Anna Rice from Dublin has composed a new suite of songs, and the musicians playing them are top class folksters who play with the very best on the national scene. Luke Daniels is on melodeon, Ceri Rees Matthews on pibgorn and flute, Ceri Owen Jones on welsh single harp Matheu Watson on guitar and fiddle – all joined by members of the Southern Sinfonia. A superb and unique evening is ensured.
