Unfortunately X-1 have had to cancel their appearance at this gig.
Derby Sunshine: A little bit of electronic dream pop to lighten the atmosphere before the sonic carnage begins, courtesy of this tuneful London outfit. Well, they’re based in London, but they spend a lot of time in Italy, so we’re very happy to have them in our little town. If you like the glory pop sounds of the early 80s, those buzzing PSB synths and effortless Erasure melodies, you’ll like Derby Sunshine, who have taken that and drenched it in misty, evocative melancholy, reverb and mystique.
Billy T’Rivers: Billy is a relaxed Americana and alt-folk troubadour, who comes backed by the excellently monikered Wild West Retirement Home. Expect sleepy songs, relaxed plucking, and an assured slur of a vocal that sounds like a fresh breeze in the Oxford scene. They were last seen in the Wheatsheaf supporting the excellent Grey Children, which should be justification enough for anyone with an ear for quality local tunage.
